Syrian army and SDF decide to halt attacks

Clashes between the Syrian army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian branch of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, have ended. A statement from the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that the targeting of SDF positions has been ceased.

The statement noted that the decision was made to keep the conflict away from civilians, emphasizing that the Syrian army has not taken any steps to change its control lines on the ground. It was stated that the army only responded to points from which fire was opened against it.

Following this announcement, the SDF also issued a written statement. The statement reported that, following contacts aimed at de-escalation, orders were given to halt attacks against Syrian government forces.

Yesterday, the SDF had carried out attacks on certain neighborhoods in Aleppo using mortar shells, rocket launchers, and heavy machine guns. Two people lost their lives and 9 were injured in the attacks, which targeted civilian residential areas and the Al-Razi Hospital. Following the attacks, internal security forces had initiated efforts in the region for the evacuation and safety of civilians.
