Trump: IAEA inspectors will visit Iran at an appropriate time

US President Donald Trump made a statement to reporters regarding a potential visit to Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In response to a question about statements from Iranian officials claiming there are no plans for IAEA inspectors to visit Iran, Trump said, "They're wrong, they're wrong, they know they're wrong. We have information from the inside and we know that 100 percent for sure. If they were right, I would have cancelled the meetings immediately."

When asked when the inspectors would visit Iran, Trump replied, "At an appropriate time, there is no need to rush."

"We have no plan for the Agency to inspect Iranian nuclear facilities"

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei had previously said, "Regarding the claims by US officials that nuclear negotiations have begun and that Iran has accepted nuclear inspectors, and the question of whether the Iranian delegation met with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi in Switzerland and whether inspection permission will be granted for the nuclear facilities that were attacked, the short answer is: no to both questions. We have neither had a meeting with the International Atomic Energy Agency Director General, nor do we have any plan for the Agency to inspect Iranian nuclear facilities damaged as a result of military attacks by the US and the Israeli regime. In fact, there is no procedure for this. As a country party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and a state committed to safeguards agreements, we will continue to maintain existing practices, and the current practice is quite clear."
