U.S. President Donald Trump shared a post on his social media account regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Reiterating his claims that the Strait of Hormuz is under U.S. control, Trump stated, "Now that we have it under U.S. control, should we change the name to Trump Strait? It would be much more popular than it was before, just like America."
Trump's statement was reshared by the White House's social media account with the comment, "Sounds good."
The U.S. President had previously stated in earlier remarks that he considers the Strait of Hormuz to be U.S. territory.
