Mount Etna erupts before the eyes of tourists
An eruption occurred at Italy's Mount Etna during a tourist visit. While the terrifying moments were captured on camera, there was no loss of life or property.
Mount Etna, located on the Italian island of Sicily and Europe's most active volcano, has become active once again. The Etna Observatory of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) stated that the eruption occurred in the southeast of the volcano. The eruption took place during a visit by tourists. The moments when tourists fled the area in fear and panic were captured on camera. It was noted that the lava and ash flow spewed by the mountain during the eruption did not reach the Valle del Bove, a point near the summit where tourist excursions typically end.

Due to the eruption, flights to the region were diverted to different airports. No loss of life or property was reported in the eruption.

The last significant eruption at Mount Etna occurred this past February.
