In a statement issued by the Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), it was stated that "the claims that 'a refugee-asylum seeker deal has been made with Germany and 200 refugees have been sent to Turkey' are not true."

The following statements were included in the announcement made from the DMM's social media account:

"The claims shared by some social media accounts that 'a refugee-asylum seeker deal has been made with Germany and 200 refugees have been sent to Turkey' are not true. In recent days, misleading news was published in the German press stating that 'Germany and Turkey have reached an agreement, and within the scope of this agreement, 13,500 Turkish citizens without legal residence permits could be sent to Turkey'; these claims were denied by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our Center. Although the news reports cited as the basis for the claim did not contain any allegation regarding 'the sending of foreign refugees to Turkey,' it has been determined that certain circles have launched a manipulation campaign claiming that 'foreign refugees-asylum seekers will be sent to Turkey.' There is absolutely no agreement between Turkey and Germany regarding the mass deportation of 'Turkish citizens without legal residence rights' as alleged. Within the scope of existing agreements, Turkish citizens who do not have a legal residence permit can only be accepted individually with the approval of Turkish Foreign Ministry officials after they have exercised all their rights within the legal framework in Germany (appeal processes, etc.)."

On the other hand, the statement noted that the acceptance of the return of third-country nationals (Syria, Afghanistan, etc.) who do not have legal residence rights to Turkey, regardless of whether it is on a mass or individual basis, is out of the question.

'SERVICED BY FETÖ'

Furthermore, it was alleged that the footage shared on social media with the claim that '200 refugees were sent to Turkey' was fabricated and circulated by FETÖ propaganda accounts, and that the airline company the passengers boarded in the footage, which was determined to have been recorded at Frankfurt–Hahn Airport, has had no flights from Germany to Turkey in the recent past.
