Mustafa Varank follows up 'looter' remark with 'rabid minority' outburst

Mustafa Varank, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology and AKP Bursa Deputy, has made a post regarding the 'stray animal law' that was passed in parliament despite reactions from opposition parties.

Using striking expressions regarding the accepted legislative proposal, Varank, just as he did with his 'looter' remark, this time compared animal rights advocates to a 'rabid minority'.

Describing the accepted law as a product of the struggle of citizens whose relatives were attacked by stray animals, Mustafa Varank used the following expressions:

"This law is a product of the struggle of our grieving mothers who were told to 'stop putting on a show,' and our heartbroken fathers who were kicked out of meetings after being asked 'who are you?'.

It is the victory of the silent majority, who say 'may no other Mahras or Tunahans suffer the same fate,' against the rabid minority that has turned our Veteran Parliament into a stomping ground.

This legislative proposal, prepared by listening to the voice of our nation, will hopefully be discussed and enacted in the General Assembly as soon as possible."
