Wanted by INTERPOL: Organization leader sought in Northern Cyprus arrested
Şehriban Toptal, who was wanted by INTERPOL on charges of establishing an international criminal organization, was captured by Northern Cyprus police in Nicosia. It was reported that Toptal will be extradited to Turkey.
Another organization leader has been captured in Northern Cyprus in a significant operation. Şehriban Toptal, who had an arrest warrant issued against her by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) on charges of "establishing an international criminal organization," was arrested by Northern Cyprus police in Nicosia yesterday evening.
In a statement released by the Northern Cyprus police, it was noted that Toptal was wanted on charges of "establishing an organized criminal organization, illegally purchasing, storing, and selling large quantities of narcotics, and subsequently laundering illegal proceeds through real estate and other transactions."
Furthermore, it was stated that Toptal had been declared a prohibited immigrant by the Council of Ministers of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
It was reported that Toptal, who was captured in an operation carried out by the Nicosia Police Department teams, will be extradited to Turkey.
