Özgür Demirtaş makes a request to authorities
Economist Özgür Demirtaş made a request to authorities via his social media account, concluding his remarks by saying, 'the result will be good for the children.'
Özgür Demirtaş, who frequently makes significant observations regarding the economic agenda on his social media account, often sets the agenda with his posts. Demirtaş addressed the authorities in his latest post.
Calling for a reduction in VAT rates, Özgür Demirtaş urged for a decrease in VAT on certain products used by children.
Starting his post with the words 'I have a request for the authorities,' Özgür Demirtaş wrote the following:

"For those currently at 10% VAT:
Please reduce products such as pencils, crayons, pencil sharpeners, erasers, school/children's scissors, notebooks, and watercolors to 1% VAT.
For those currently at 20% VAT:
Please reduce products such as mechanical pencils, mechanical pencil leads, play dough, student watercolor brushes, and glue sticks to 10% VAT...
These are essential products. These are not luxury consumer goods. Most children use mechanical pencils. They use play dough.
Making this change is very simple. The result will be good for the children."
