The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards were presented last night.

Oppenheimer, which took home 7 awards at the BAFTAs, one of the most prestigious international events of the awards season, left its mark on the night.

Loach, who competed in the 2024 BAFTAs with his film 'The Old Oak', which focuses on Syrian refugees, also sent a message of support for Gaza during the night.

'STOP THE ATTACKS' MESSAGE

Known for his films depicting the struggles of the working class such as 'I, Daniel Blake', 'Kes', and 'The Angels' Share', the British director Ken Loach delivered a message calling for Israel to stop its attacks on Palestine.

During the awards ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, Loach posed on the red carpet next to a banner reading "Stop the massacre in Gaza", which was held by the film's writer and his close collaborator Paul Laverty, who has penned the screenplays for Loach's films for many years.
