General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) Weather Forecasting Expert Abdullah Macit shared the 5-day weather forecast report.

Macit stated, "A sudden drop in temperature is being observed in particular. We will continue to see this trend over the weekend. Our citizens should be cautious against sudden temperature drops and heavy downpours."

Emphasizing that the eastern and northwestern regions of the country will come under the influence of rainy weather starting tomorrow, Macit included the following in his assessment:

According to our latest evaluations, in addition to the precipitation expected in the eastern regions on Wednesday, we will enter a new rainy weather system from the northwestern regions on Thursday. We expect the precipitation, which will begin in the south and east of Marmara on Thursday, to continue intermittently as showers and thunderstorms across the country between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. No heavy rainfall is expected for Thursday, but there may be locally heavy rainfall, especially in the southwestern regions on Friday and in the inland areas on Saturday. We strongly advise our citizens to be careful, especially against floods and flash floods.

Air temperatures were around seasonal norms. However, they will decrease over the weekend, especially in the northern, inland, and eastern parts. We expect them to fall below seasonal norms and remain at these low levels at the beginning of the week.

'SHOWER' WARNING FOR ANKARA

No precipitation is expected in Istanbul on Thursday, but there may be moderate showers in some places between Friday and Saturday. In Ankara, thunderstorms are expected throughout the province on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. In Izmir, thunderstorms are expected, especially in the inland areas, between Thursday and Friday. Air temperatures in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, in particular, will decrease over the weekend and remain below seasonal norms. It is observed that the dust transport has lost its effect for now.
