Brought to the agenda after the Adnan Oktar case: Abuse through the construction of consent!

The 'Kedicik' (Kitten) documentary has brought the Adnan Oktar Criminal Organization, whose members were arrested and sentenced to thousands of years in prison, back to the agenda.

The documentary describes how the organization approached women, particularly in luxury shopping malls, and lured people into Adnan Oktar’s web using a 'turnstile' system.

Clinical Psychologist Kıvılcım Karan evaluated Adnan Oktar, the 'kittens,' and the abuse incident from a different perspective for 12punto.com.tr under the heading of "construction of consent."

In this article, I want to talk about the "construction of consent." 140 Journos released a documentary explaining how Oktar, who was once diagnosed with paranoid delusional disorder and hospitalized at the Bakırköy Psychiatric Hospital, turned his narcissistic delusional personality disorder into an armed criminal organization under the guise of being the Mahdi, establishing a misogynistic cult of sexual, physical, and emotional violence.

The documentary is very successful in explaining in detail how the women we caricatured and mocked as "kittens" went through a "construction of consent" process over the years, how the psychological violence they were subjected to turned into physical and sexual violence, and how they were turned into robots through systematic physical, sexual, and emotional violence. Of course, male members also went through the same process of the construction of consent.

"Construction of Consent" refers to all emotional, communicative, and behavioral methods applied systematically to a person to turn a "no" into a "yes" for any behavior that the person would not consciously consent to and would normally refuse; these methods appear to contain no coercion but actually involve psychological suggestion, manipulation, and pressure.

'ONCE YOU UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTION OF CONSENT...'

How does a person do this to themselves? They shouldn't have gone to them. They shouldn't have accepted these things. Didn't they have any sense? It means they were interested in these things too... And so on. Once you understand the process of the construction of consent, we stop using these victim-blaming thoughts that seem rational.

As you can watch in the documentary, they have victimized thousands of women by tracking young girls and young women from the ages of 15-16, using the construction of consent, and sometimes through overt violence and abuse.

Abusing young girls and women through the "construction of consent" is one of society's festering wounds and it appears before us in many different forms (it is something that happens every day in homes, schools, and workplaces - you don't necessarily have to fall into the lap of a sex cult). The solution is to create conscious women's solidarity groups that support each other. In this order, we will look out for one another.
