India launches XPoSat satellite into space
India has successfully launched its X-ray Polarimeter Satellite (XPoSat) into space.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced on its social media platform X account that the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) carrying XPoSat was successfully launched at 09:10 from the Sriharikota space center in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The statement noted that XPoSat, which is planned to study black holes and neutron stars, has been successfully placed into orbit.
With this launch, India has become the second country after the United States to send a dedicated observatory into space to study these celestial bodies.
