Research conducted by psychology professors at London Metropolitan University has revealed that women in relationships with younger men are happier than those in relationships with men of their own age.

The study, published in the journal Sexual and Relationship Therapy, examined the relationships of 24 women.

According to the research reported by Independent Türkçe, it was noted that 17 of the women involved were with men 7 to 10 years younger than themselves, while the remaining 7 were in relationships with partners of their own age.

WOMEN WITH YOUNGER PARTNERS ARE HAPPIER

Researchers measured the emotional intelligence, sexual self-efficacy, and subjective happiness levels of the 24 women. While the sexual self-efficacy measurement provided results regarding the women's sexual self-confidence and satisfaction levels, emotional intelligence refers to the ability to experience and express emotions.

The researchers, who determined that women with younger partners are sexually happier, emphasized that the number of women in the study was kept limited and that they intend to repeat the research with a larger sample size.

A significant portion of the women in relationships with younger men described their sex lives as "passionate."

Stephanie O'Shea, 42, who is married to a 29-year-old, said, "I can say that we have a more active sex life than many long-term relationships. It is the best of what I have seen."

Samantha Banbury, who led the research, stated, "Society is more critical of women who date younger people than it is of men. More research needs to be conducted on women who are in relationships with younger men."
