So what now?

In a Gazeteduvar interview dated June 8, 2019, Özgür Özel said, “I believe in the existence of a very serious center of tutelage that includes actors from different political parties, actors we do not know at all, and that this center establishes tutelage over Turkey in a way that is supra-party and even controls multiple parties. Neither Bahçeli nor Recep Tayyip Erdoğan manages Turkish politics; a deeper and more powerful mind, in which they are actors but whose script is written elsewhere, is in charge.”

The new regime, established by decree-laws (KHK) after the July 15 coup attempt and legalized by aligning the Constitution with the de facto situation via the 2017 Referendum, is an absolutist administration based entirely on the consolidation of powers. Some call this the Second Republic and hide behind a facade of fake democracy. In reality, the republic is not such a regime. It is a regime founded by dismantling the despotism we are currently experiencing, the exact opposite of today.

The image of fake democracy is created by the CHP, the colorful parties alongside it, and the Kurds. When hope is given to CHP supporters and a degree of freedom of movement is granted to Kurds, the country looks democratic from afar. In our geography, where blood, sweat, and tears are never absent, and in today's world where swords are drawn, frankly, no one cares what the Turkish people are actually experiencing. Those who sell hope every 5 years and move on have long forgotten the maxim “The independence of the nation will be saved by the determination and resolve of the nation itself,” and are now pinning their hopes on the international order and the European Parliament. Yet, with Trump's election as US President, the world has suddenly returned to the day Stalin asked, “How many divisions does the Pope have?”

Almost all public officials currently in office became civil servants after the AKP came to power. Three-quarters of judges/prosecutors and police/military personnel began their duties after the Second Republic, which began in 2016. Those who are not from the ruling camp are naturally inclined to see the state and every state official as neutral and like themselves. However, most of these people do not actually see us as one of their own, and they are, in every sense, foreign to us.

In our vast country of 85 million, there are several different fundamental neighborhoods that never mix, and the overwhelming majority of public positions are filled from the same neighborhood. A brand new public order was established after the July 15 coup attempt, and public personnel were formed accordingly. We are talking about a state that has united approximately two-fifths of the country—even if not half as claimed—and millions who believe that they are the only true nation. Erdoğan and Bahçeli are just the visible faces. After the coup, a brand new state was established that we were not taught about in school, and we are not the citizens of this state, but tax-paying slaves.

Özgür Özel pursued the normalization process with the AKP because he foresaw that these days might come. In this process, the state mind that favors despotism won the war of the cliques. Whoever poses a danger to the Turkey of tomorrow—be it a politician, businessman, or manager—is being purged along with their entire team. It seems that the same operation carried out against Cumhuriyet newspaper will also be carried out against the CHP.

Those who pose a danger will be purged and replaced by acceptable rivals. Anyone in politics or the media who appears to be anti-government but whose business is going well is there because they are acceptable. TRT Kürdi is a good example of this. Do you want a Kurdish channel? Here is a Kurdish channel for you. Do you want to listen to government criticism? Here are journalists on channels A, B, and C who shout morning and night, have strong oratory skills, and look pleasant. Do you feel like holding a rally? Here is a huge area filled in from the sea. Just let off your steam, don't direct your anger at me, return home relieved, and continue to be an obedient taxpayer. After all, when the ballot box is set up every 5 years, I can make enough people happy for a few months with the state's infinite resources and continue on my way with 50%+1.
