OpenAI establishes safety committee
The US-based company OpenAI has announced the formation of a safety committee to oversee the development of its new artificial intelligence model, which will succeed the GPT-4o system.
According to a statement on the company's website, work has begun on creating a successor to the GPT-4o system, which was introduced in May.
In this context, a safety committee has been established to provide recommendations to the board of directors regarding critical safety decisions related to projects and operations.
The members of the safety committee include OpenAI Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sam Altman, Board Chair Bret Taylor, Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo, former Sony general counsel Nicole Seligman, and four of the company's technical and legal experts.
REPORT TO BE SUBMITTED
The committee is expected to first evaluate the company's ongoing operations and safety measures, submit a recommendation report to the board of directors within 90 days, and subsequently share these findings with the public as part of its safety protocols.
